The FRONIUS Symo GEN24 8.0 Plus Hybrid Inverter is a grid-connected inverter with 8kW output power, three-phase and without a transformer with a series of additional features compared to the normal Symo three-phase range. The new generation of Fronius GEN24 Inverters offers state-of-the-art technical characteristics for direct self-consumption installations, both with and without accumulation.
Among the most notable features of the FRONIUS Symo GEN24 8.0 Plus Hybrid Inverter are the following:
PV Point: It is an emergency power function built into the inverter itself. In the event of a power outage, the FRONIUS Symo GEN24 8.0 Plus Hybrid Inverter can automatically generate an output of up to 3kW in single phase even without having to install batteries.
Total Backup Power: by combining the inverter with a storage system, you can supply emergency power for single-phase consumption through the battery, with a time variation of less than 90 seconds. This produces a high autonomy and flexibility in situations in which there is a power outage. To make use of this function it is necessary to decouple from the network by means of contactors, thus preventing the Fronius from working in parallel with the electrical network and there being voltage in the line upstream of the meter.
Controlled active cooling: Through a dissipation system that has forced ventilation, we will have a longer useful life of the components. We will also have IP66 protection that will allow us to install it both indoors and outdoors.
Physical Characteristics
The entire range of Fronius Symo GEN24 Hybrid Inverters incorporates communications, datalogger and web server for commissioning and monitoring of the plant. It incorporates 2 RS485 connections for communication with the Smart Meter wattmeter, the battery and the Fronius Ohmpilot device.
The efficiency of the FRONIUS Symo GEN24 8.0 Plus Hybrid Inverter is very high, hence its European performance of 97.8%, with a maximum performance of 98.2%.
Added to all this, we will have a simple start-up of the system, as it happens with the rest of the Fronius models. Through the new solar.start tool, we will be able to quickly commission the system. The Fronius solar.web application integrates all the analysis and monitoring tools to be able to control the operation of our photovoltaic plant.

The FRONIUS Symo GEN24 8.0 Plus Hybrid Inverter is a three-phase grid connection inverter. Because all the models in the GEN24 range incorporate 2 MPPT or maximum power point trackers, we will have the great versatility of being able to distribute the panels in 2 different orientations or inclinations, such as on a gabled roof, or in 2 series of different electrical characteristics.
Thanks to its flexible design and Dynamic Peak Manager technology, its MPP tracking algorithm has tolerance for shaded areas, giving it great performance. Thanks to this, sometimes power optimizers are not necessary, although Fronius inverters are compatible with some models on the market.
The FRONIUS Symo GEN24 8.0 Plus Hybrid Inverter is an inverter that allows us to interconnect with the electricity grid and decide if we want to include batteries for self-consumption, which store surplus solar production. In this way, the investment is maximized since only the electrical network is used to obtain the energy that cannot be covered with solar production or with that stored in the batteries. If we incorporate a battery, we can decide that it is only recharged with the solar production that we are not consuming, storing that energy so that the inverter can take advantage of it at times of lower production or at night. For this reason, this type of installation is profitable in the long term, given the drastic reduction in billing to the electricity company and the long life of the components of these systems.
